Lip Fillers & Dermal Fillers in Cardiff

Lip fillers Cardiff and dermal fillers are an effective way to smooth out wrinkles, restore the contours of the face lost to aging and add more volume and definition to facial features such as the lips. The results last longer than anti-wrinkle injections, sometimes up to 2 years. If you’re interested in this service but find the prospect a little daunting then we recommend arranging a free consultation to talk through the procedure in more detail.

What do filler injections involve?

Fillers come in a number of different brands but the predominant ingredient is hyaluronic acid. This is the natural substance found within our skin that holds water and maintains a youthful appearance to the soft structures of our face. Hyaluronic acid is gradually depleted as we age. Fillers can therefore be used to add volume and definition to structures such as lips (lip augmentation) as well as to flatten deep wrinkles and restore normal contours in the lines around the nose (nasolabial folds) and chin. They again involve a series of small injections, but the effects are almost instant. Anaesthetic can be used to minimise any pain.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections

These are very popular cosmetic procedures and have has helped countless clients reduce the signs of wrinkles and ageing. The injections are effective and generally painless if administered by an experienced medical practitioner. Every patient has different facial anatomy and treatment goals however with thorough pre-procedure assessment and planning it is possible to produce very subtle and natural results.

What do Anti-wrinkle injections involve?

The procedure is discussed in detail and we do not proceed until the patient is happy that all their questions and any concerns have been addressed. Wrinkles on the face are together identified by the doctor and client, predominantly these are frown lines across the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the outer eye (crowfeet). A series of small injections are made under the skin with a tiny needle. The injections contain botulinum toxin which smooths out wrinkles by temporarily paralysing the muscles underneath. The effects of the injections begin to appear after 1 week and last for anywhere between 3 and 9 months.

Are These Procedures Safe?

Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal and lip fillers do carry some risks, as does any medical procedure. However these risks are small, particularly when administered by an experienced individual with the correct qualifications.

To date, millions of these procedures have been performed using substances that have been tried and tested over many years.

All potential risks would be fully discussed before any procedure is undertaken.

Are These Procedures Safe?
